Does anyone have figures concerning the velocity that can be had using a sling shot?

This is going to depend on alot of factors. Projectile weight, projectile material, projectile geometry, draw length, band material, band age..........to name a few. Even with all this info it will be tough to get repeatable results.
Some additional info from you might help get the ball rolling on this thread.

AS already mentioned, this would involve a lot of variables. Years ago, I did check the ballistics of a slingshot. With that particular one, with the owner shooting, with their ammo (ball bearings), etc. the velocity was about 160 FPS. Heavier ammo would have been slower, lighter faster, etc. In general, I used to consider them to have about the same ballpark velocity as the old recurve hunting bows. Anymore they give ballistics of slingshots as to range, whatever that means in the end. For most of those values, I could throw a rock further using an old fashioned sling......and it was a lot heavier than a ball bearing or marble.
