I see that my "Need Scope advice" thread was moved from the general handguns forum to the firearms accessories forum.

I had originally posted it in the handguns forum because it was mean't as question specific to handgun specific optics.

While I can see why a moderator would move it (I guess I can understand anyway) I wonder why similar gun-type specific threads are left unmoved. Specifically, the "new scope??" thread posted on the Rifle Country forum by BergaminoCAV.


I thought (and still think) I'd get better handgun specific responses on the forum where I originally posted the question. Now I wonder why some similar questions aren't also moved.

Perhaps if you had titled the thread "Need Handgun Scope Advice" it would have remained where it was?

Different moderators moderate the different forums or even the same forums at different times. We have general guidelines about such. Different moderators have different takes on suitable material.

PM the moderators of the handgun forum you wish to post in. Tell them what your purpose is and ask them to leave it in the forum. They'll probably say ok.

Also, the suggestion about the thread title is a good one. If the thread title suggests that another forum would be more pertinent, a thread could easily be moved with no further ado.
