I picked up an old sears bolt action .410 model 101.1380.

Gun looked real good on the out side. I took it home, seemed hard to close the bolt, lubed it and claened up the bore.

Bore was mirrior sharp.

So i took it out and fired 4 2.5" .410.

Bolt was really difficult to close all the was, and extraction was very spotty.

Barrel says proof tested for 3" .410. I thought could use 2.5" in a 3".

Is this correct?

I took the gun apart and took the bolt off and worked on the extractor which seemed lose. and seemed to prove.

BUT then noticed around where the trigger unit was attached to the gun. Iu is cracked, looks like someone tried to weld the unit back on and the weld had cracked.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

So now what do i do? Can i salvage the gun?

I see that Numerich sells receicer's and trigger parts for a model 101.1381 sears .410 at a pretty good price

Is this the same model.

Numerich lists a trigger brackets and screws.

Was the trigger unit bolted to the reciver instead of welded on?

I would appreicated any info.
