How to legaly plug a hi-cap SIG 550 mag

I have to send a new hi-cap mag for a SG 550 to the US.
But, to get the mag through customs, I figure with the law being what it is... :banghead: I will have to block the mag.
I am thinking of filling it with acraglas or something similar, but want to avoid too much weight. Maby even drilling some holes and gluing nails through the mag body can be a solution.
The mag will be used as a template for a new mag pouch.
What is the legal requirement for sending post ban mag to the US for industrial purposes?
Oh, and I know, I know that ruining an innocent mag like this is sacrilege. :(

What is a SG 550.; ? DO they make 10 rd mags in the USA? From what I have seen most casterated mags are the same exterior size. So just use one of them.

The SG 550 is what is known in the US as the SIG 550.
Here is the SG 551 version.

A Swiss company called SAN Swiss Arms AG is the manufacturer of these rifles. They are currently updating their web site:
www.swissarms.ch (http://www.swissarms.ch)
I do not know of any US made mags, but I will be having original 10rnd mags available for the US marked.

Just send one that is ten years old and don't do anything to it. The burden of proof lies with the US government to prove that the mag is made after sept 1994.

Not when you're importing it into the country.
Just contact the atf before one of these jailhouse lawyers gets you into trouble.

I don't see Kobun getting in trouble (unless he comes to visit, when they'll pick him up at customs), but he probably will lose the mag.
Those companies with manufacturers FFLs (probably not an accessory maker) will be able to do the paperwork to import the mag.
I'd rather suggest you try to find the Swiss Rifle Forum over here and look for Pierre St. Marie. I'd be willing to bet he has one or will know of someone who does, already here in the USA, that they might lend as a pattern.

The only way to legally import mags or parts kits was to have a Form 6 (importer form) on file with the ATF before Jan 1, 2001. ALL Form 6s after that were denied. I'm not sure if it was a parting shot Executive Order from Klinton on his way out, or if it was an internal ATF decison, but in any event, nobody can just bring in pre-ban mags like they used to.
:banghead: Damn ATF

It is telling then, that our new REPUBLICAN president did nothing to change the situation.
