I had an Ed Brown .400 barrel - worked great on a full-size S&W. The .400 CorBon ammo shot fine - handled like a .45 +p. I determined there really wasn't a need for it though as the CorBon was expensive and didn't offer all that much over good .45.

It could be due to inexperience, but from a practical and observer's standpoint, I never understood the .400 Corbon. Shoot the lightest .40 caliber projectiles at middle of the road 10mm Auto velocities without the capacity of the 10mm Auto
Okay so you can just drop the barrel into your regular .45...big deal. It doesn't really do anything a 165 or 185 gr +P .45 can't go, does it? From here, I think if I am going to be stuck with the magazine capacity of a .45, I'd rather have the frontal diameter and mass associated with a .45. If I want real .40 caliber firepower, I'll get a 10mm Auto (been there, done that). But going with the worst of both worlds seems like a solution to a non-existant problem.
Admittedly, as a 10mm Auto fan, I could be and probably am a little biased. The .400 Corbon ranks right up there with the so-called .40 S&W +P as a clearly desperate and almost laughable attempt to not get a 10mm Auto. But whatever.

I see your point. I want a conversion for my CBOB that utilizes my 10mm
and 45 acp components.
ED Brown no longer offers a .400 CB barrel.
