After World War I and during the depression
there was a cottage industry in Germany of
convering Mauser 98s into singleshot bolt acrion
shotguns. I have seen a few at gunshows over the
years, and siome have rather nice sporter stocks.

The two I have actually hold two shots, one in the magazine and one in the chamber . Just make sure that there is a removable shell head on the face of the bolt , it is held on by the extractor. Without this piece it would be dangerous to fire it.
