I have a Romanian trainer .22lr rifle and I need to know what size scope rings will fit it. I have a red dot scope that I want to mount that has a 1" tube. Will standard .22 rimfire rings fit?

No, standard 3/8" .22 rings will probably not fit. I say probably because Millett makes a ring set that will go down small enough to fit just fine (I have them on mine). Very good rings, too.

Also, Century sells a set of 1" rings for the narrow rail. FWIW, that's a Euro spec rail, I believe nowadays it's used primarily on airguns.

Thanks. I just ran out to Wal-Mart and bought a set of $7 Simmonds rings. They didn't fit but I was able to shave some metal from each side of the rings and now they fit fine. A cheap gun deserves a cheap scope and cheap set of rings. :D

My rifle, Simmonds red dot scope, and Simmonds rings all together cost less than $100. It is pretty accurate so I decided it needed better sights, the iron sights were terrible. It is no CZ-452 but for the money, it is a fun gun.
