Picked up an 1860 Army (steel frame) the other day, and am trying to find out who made it.
Production date was 1971 (xx7), marked RAG on barrel with the A being a little lower than the R and G. Also has Bill Eduards Afton VA US America stamped on barrel, and Made In Italy on other side. Been trying to look it up on the net and not having any luck. Hopefully be able to get to the range on Friday to see how it does. Almost forgot, it came with a flap holster marked Navy Arms on back, don't know whether it was a later addition, or came with it originally. Good shape overall, few speckles of rust on barrel, bore is nice and bright.

I've emailed the administrator of an Italian gun reference website to inquire whether the markings could be from a registered Italian gunsmith by the name of "Rag. Negro Vittorio" or some other known gunmaker.
