Cheap and easy light solution?

Anybody got a cheap and easy way to mount a light on a 12ga?

I'd like something non-model-specific, though I'd be using it on a Mossberg 835. I've got a varmint light (clips onto a scope) that just happens to fit on either the barrel or mag tube, but it uses external power, which is a bit limiting if I'm looking for a critter in the yard.

I could have sworn I'd seen a simple mount to put any light with a 1" body tube on any 12ga barrel, and it was only a couple bucks, (appropriate, considering it was basically two bent strips of metal and a screw) but Google doesn't seem to want me to find it again.

Given that I'm not looking for something ultra-tacticool or super durable, I could probably fabricate a reasonable mount to solidly attach a light to any cylindrical object for less than $10, but I'd bet there are others out there who would like something similar for weapons that don't happen to have Picatinny rails nailed to every available surface.

That's really similar to what I was thinking of, and looks like a suitable way to do the job.

I may try to fabricate one or two from metal anyway, just so I can have a choice of lights. If I do, I'll post photos.

I have found that a strong set of zip ties will get the job done ina pinch as well.
