I DO NOT want to start a war of words or rules here, but if IDPA is only a game, what's wrong with using a holster with a cant? It's a safe, comfortable style of concealed carry for many. Why is it prohibited? Who and why was it concluded cants are prohibited?

The holster I use in IDPA has an FBI cant, i.e. the grip is canted forward. The rules do not allow a backwards cant (grip canted backwards, not does it allow a holster where the cant is adjustable while the holster is being worn.

...and the reason no FORWARD cant is allowed is because it is virtually unheard of in concealed carry holsters, but de rigueur among competitive high-speed sport shooters (i.e., IPSC/USPSA).

A reasonable amount of backward cant is very common, legal, and indeed pictured in the rulebook discussion of holsters (which you should consult).

I haven't gone over the rule book in quite some time; however, I think you can have almost any cant you want...If you use an IWB.
