Now listen up, you primitive screwheads. See this? This... is my boomstick! The 12-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about $109.95. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You *got* that?

Since my S&W 1006 10mm pistol is built so tough, I nicknamed it "Sherman" as in Sherman Tank. The other alternative was "Brick" as in "sturdy as a brick sh*thouse".

I nicknamed my .358 Norma Magnum "Mjolner" which was the name of Thor's hammer, because when something gets hit by it, it been Thunderstruck! My wife nicknamed it "your other woman".

When it's got the shotgun barrel in it, it's Clarence P. Rockafeller, when the rifle barrel is on it, it's Clarese P. Rockafeller. Together, they form a union built to protect ours.

A very nice, early post-war .357 S&W (pre-Model 27) I inherited from my Dad will always be known as "The Cannon" to me; since it was made, there are a number of more powerful revolver cartridges that have come on the market, but since that's what he was calling it when he introduced it to me at a very early age, that's what it remains.

Otherwise, no, I don't give nicknames to the guns I have . . . although a few (A Colt Mk IV Series '70 Jammamatic and a Kahr P9) earned colorful and descriptive incestuous, scatological and other monikers that Art's grammaw wouldn't approve of. I have a silhouette pistol made from a .303 lee Enfield MkIV 10 shot detachable magazine, six inch barrel. Unless you somehow obtained an Enfield action that was never made up as a rifle, would I be right to assume it's licensed as an SBR?

My .300 Savage Remington Model 81 is called "Ol' Meat On The Table", because that's what Grandpa called it.

My .30-06 Remington 7400 has been called "Clear Cutter" - after subjecting a wooded hillside to a radical new lead-based deforestation technique of my own invention.

My Glock 21 has been christened "Doorstop" since I got an XD-45 this spring.

My old Winchester single-shot 16-gauge Model 37 is called "Live Hard", because every time my Dad looks at it he says "Man, we used to make 'em live hard with that one."
