Does anyone have any experience with the Charles Daly Hi-Power?

Here's a recent thread about the CD HP:

I now have somewhat over 2500 rounds through mine. No problems and it hasn't bobbled even once. I'm very pleased with it.

I understand it is a relabeled FEG PJK-9HP, which I do have.
The fit and finish appear to be equal to a Portuguese assembled Browning HP. It shoots fine.

After owning one for three years, the trigger is still gritty, but it has improved slightly. It's just not to the state of honing as my half-breed (FM frame and FN slide).

How many rounds does three years translate into? Time does not pass the same way for everybody.

Just a thought, but could the gritty feeling be from the magazine safety?

I eliminated the gritty trigger feel on my Arcus, by buffing the front of my magazines where the safety contacts the magazine face and spraying a little dry lube on the magazine face and the safety contact face.

Kokapelli-
Have a BHP,FNH and a CD. No complaints on the two FN manufactured pistols. Then CD shoots well and the internal finish is superior to the original imported FEGs. Was unable to get use to the XS sights on a hand gun and shipped it off to Novaks for 3 dots. Lost the mag disconnect and cleaned up the sear and hammer but kept the pull at 5-6lbs. It is my truck gun.
Overall opinion: accuracy-above average, reliablility-above average (but I had to replace the extractor after 600 rounds, it chipped, I replaced it with a C&S, it"s humming again)
Safe Shooting!.........Ken

I bought a CD Hipower on a lark. I really like the finish on the guns. I wish more guns had the same deep dark finish.
The interior was full of machine marks and the frame was misshaped. There was a gap with the top of the frame and the bottom of the slide just above the right grip and the holes for the grip screws were to far foward.
I did sell it in order the fund another gun.
It was an ok shooter but not as good as my other BHPs.
