Here's a few photos. I got the Speedfeed short pistol grip solid stock, 'SWAT' buttplate, Wilderness single-point sling and GG&G attachment plate for said sling.
Here's a photo of the sling hanging. If you want the details and whatnot of the Singlepoing sling concept, pick up last month's SWAT for the Pat Rogers article. The Benelli offering is new.
Dont' mind the BSEG, I always have a stupid smile when new toys come in the mail.
DISCLAIMER: I am not here to argue if auto or pump is better, just showcasing the new products and letting you guys know they're out there.

The new stock shortens the LOP by one inch. The SWAT buttplate is a plastic piece and shortens it by yet another inch. At first I thought they called it 'SWAT' like everything is called 'tactical' 'combat' 'operator' etc., but I guess now I know why they call it SWAT--unless you have one of those nifty stock retention thingies on your body armor, that plastic buttplate is going to slip off the fabric of your shirt.
The short LOP is nice, but not at the expense of keeping the thing shouldered with one paw while you're loading with the other.

Here's a photo of the two stocks side-by-side. I have the 'SWAT' buttplate on the Speedfeed but it's coming off and the rubber one is going back on.

Skunk, thanks for posting that. Looks good to me, tho I'm sure it's overpriced(G)....
Seriously, how about running some fast COFS for time and score and getting back here with the results? Thanks.
I highly value empirical exidence and first hand experience. Let us know if the new stuff works for you.

One of my local firearms instructors is trying to teach me the "HK Style" of long gun shooting. basically we are using 870's with 12" LOP stocks that have been cut down and the pads refit. Its a lot different, but you place the stock more over your chest and shoot from an isosceles stance. The recoil is quite manageable, and if you are wearing a vest you are not exposing as much of your arm hole to a bad guy. This is now being taught at the NRA advanced law enforcement shotgun instructors classes. We will see if its catches on or goes the way of the Chia Pet.
Try it with that 12" LOP and see if you like it.

Skunk, one thing on the single point slings. How fast is it to get on? The reason I ask is that the single point slings look great for SWAT team members or the like that have there weapon with them the entire "shift". However for someone like me that the shotgun is either in the safe until the bump in the night or riding locked up behind the rear seats in my pickup it looks like it would be in my way. Being basically cheap I have been hesitant to buy one (they are sorta pricey, they are tactical you know) without knowing.

So you got your IV-S on the first try? :) I finally got mine on the THIRD try (the other two were IV's that hadn't been cut to "-s" length yet) and I LOVE it! I can't imagine it any shorter (SWAT buttplate) as the rubber pad puts it at the same LOP as my AR15.
Gee, I had a COMPLETELY different appearance in mind for a guy nicknamed "Skunkabilly" :)
I figured the build OK, but I expected a full, matty beard, whiskers up to the cheekbones, urban camo boonie hat, faded "Panama Jack" T-shirt, Woodland camo BDU pants, and old combat boots.
Nice ta meet ya Skunk! :D

Skunk, I can't tell in that picture, but do you have the sling around your neck, or under one arm & around the neck?

That's what I thought, but in the top picture it looks like it's just around your neck. Choking hazard = BAD
You need to gain some weight. And not wear black when demonstrating black gear. Or use better lighting. :D

I'm really buff, it's just that black (and the racing stripe down my back is a slimming color ;)

They make them for the A2 and collapsible stock, but the collapsible ones may need minor modification?

Skunk,
Have you thought of putting a neoprene type coating on the back of the SWAT buttplate? I think you can still buy some material from Pachmeyer in sheets.

Prior to attending my first Gunsite course I ran across a conversation on TFL between Pat Rogers, Denny Hanson and others. I asked what equipment I should take to Gunsite if I wanted to do it right. One of the things Pat recommended to me was the single point sling from The Wilderness. I took his advice and couldn't be happier. Siince that time I have taken three formal carbine classes and have seen pretty much every sling out there in action. I am still totally sold on the single point sling. Now I am getting ready to take a few shotgun classes starting this weekend. The first and pretty much only thing I bought for my shotguns was the single point sling from The Wilderness.
Last month I posted a thread on the topic of single point slings and got a grand total of zero responses.

My only caveat is watch your junk man. The single point sling can sometimes allow the gun to slam into your crotch if you release the gun suddenly. Obviously this most frequently happens in a rice paddy prone or a leaning forward position.

I returned the stock a looong time ago. I didn't like the fit and finish--mainly the gap between the trigger guard and grip drove me nuts. I went to the factory Benelli pistol grip stock and while the LOP is long, I like it better.
Dave, unfortunately, haven't been out to many games since i have other commitments on Sunday....
