Thoughts on these two autos in 28 Gauge? I'm looking for a fairly lightweight auto in 28 gauge that will cycle light loads.
Thanks!

I chose the remington and love it.Price is about the same for both, at least thats what I found around these parts.I just couldn't stomach a recoil gun selling for over $700 nib. I will get a charles daly auto VERY soon. Just locating one seems to be a problem

Interesting. I haven't heard much good about Charles Daly in general. Haven't been able to get any specific comments on the 28 Gauge though.
What do you mean about "couldn't stomach a recoil gun selling for over $700..." Is this action much cheaper to build than a gas operated one? What's your opinion on the 48 AL cycling different kinds of loads? Better to go with gas like the 1100?
Thanks!

The recoil operated shotguns are great, I (my wife & son) have 3 pintails and they are recoil operated. I just grew up shooting a beretta AL-2 magnum and have always liked the "feel" of a gas operated shotgun. Personal preference; but the franchi is an OLD design and something about a 28ga causes the mfgr's to up the price a coupla' hundred. IMHO. I want the daly for a general purpose beater. I ended up getting the 1100 AFTER I bought 8 cases of ammo:p ran it by the little honey, real smooth like.
