Well, I have not seen this type thread posted lately:confused: . If you can only have a limited number of guns :what: what would they be. Please be specific regarding city or country gun needs:o .

If I lived in the city :cuss: my choices would be: Rem 870 18 inch with rifle barrel, Ruger 10/22 with folding stock, Bushy C7, S&W 642 2 inch .38, S&W 686+ .357 mag 3 inch, S&W 909S 9mm, 1911A1 .45.

What a sad predicament! :(
Anyway, in the city I would have my Ithaca 37 pump 12 guage, .38 spl Colt Cobra, .40 Sig 229

In the country I would have my Winchester 1300 pump with three barrels, Colt .44 Mag Anaconda 4 inch barrel, and German Mauser K98 8mm rifle.

Wow, that a long list for being a "limited" amount of guns! So I'll just limit my list to two. So here you go. Keep in mind these are guns I already own, if I could pick anything, my list would be somewhat different.

Benelli SBE ( with an additional slug barrel)

Remington 870 wingmaster ( which is set up for trapshooting, so I would have to change the bbl to a 18 incher, and put on the old wood)

3 guns I would have are:

My main three would have to be:

I think those three could cover everything I'd need guns for if I was limited.

August 12, 2006, 01:41 PM
I really hate the idea of one or two guns but if pushed I guess it would be my S&W 686+ 3 inch and my Rem 870. Thank God that is not the case!

August 12, 2006, 03:33 PM
Anyplace you live you need a rifle, shotgun and a handgun. Caliber and brand up to you!:neener:

harvester of sorrow
August 12, 2006, 03:56 PM
M2A1 flamethrower
90mm antitank cannon
Lewis gun
S&W Model 66

105mm recoilless rifle
Madsen LMG
gyrojet pistol

That should cover most things

August 12, 2006, 04:00 PM
+1 for the GyroJet , Got any spare ammo laying around..roflmao

August 12, 2006, 06:07 PM
Well, I guess if could only have one of "X" I would have a lot of what I already have but I'd add a nice bolt action rifle in 308 and call it a day.

August 12, 2006, 06:49 PM

Handgun: S&W 6946
Shotgun: Mossberg 500 with 18.5 and 28" barrel in 12 gauge

August 12, 2006, 07:12 PM
SW 500

Barrett M99

At 5'8, 130 lb, i think i can handle both:neener:

August 12, 2006, 07:42 PM
A lot of you guys are "limiting" yourselves to three or four firearms! That's a lot of guns, really. You only have two hands.

Think: Hurricane (invading horde, locust swarm, whatever) is bearing down, car is packed to the gills, and you get to grab ONE on the way out. What is it?

My vote: Glock 26, but any reliable handgun would do if you know it well enough.

August 12, 2006, 07:46 PM
Alternate scenario: You live in the country and are only allowed one, for whatever reason.

My vote: Any 12 gauge shotgun. Birdshot, buckshot, slugs... Mr. 12 can handle whatever you need him to.

August 12, 2006, 11:19 PM
My vote: Any 12 gauge shotgun. Birdshot, buckshot, slugs... Mr. 12 can handle whatever you need him to.
Except somebody taking potshots at you from 200 or so yards:)
A rifle is the best friend for SHTF
1 gun only would be, for me, a M1A in bush configuration
2 guns? Add a 1911, Hi-Power or G-22 I'll take any one of those
3? A 22 rifle
4? OK a shotgun--A Mossy 590

August 12, 2006, 11:29 PM
It really depends on what you want/expect to do with them:

Survival/Living of the land-shotgun and or .22
Protection- decent centerfire-> for me my .303 or 30-30 and a shotgun (lever action).

Remember that I am in Oz and we don't have really big predator critters and we can't have the really fun (SD) guns.

August 12, 2006, 11:43 PM
I guess a Glock 26 and, uh, my Bushie 5.56 (but man, I hate hunting deer with that rifle. Sure it will kill them, but I've taken deer with 5.56 before and you need EXACT placement!)

I may be a 1911 and K frame fan but I know honestly the Glock will last longer and is more reliable without cleaning.

August 12, 2006, 11:51 PM
If it's one and only one, I suppose it would be my 1917 Enfield.

August 14, 2006, 10:28 AM
Thats a tough one...
Of the forty or so guns I own, it would have to be,

M1A Socom
870 12 ga. 26in. screw in choke mag.
Ruger MK 1 .22

my Win 94 trapper .357
Same 870 w/ slug bbl.
1911 GI spec. Springfield. .45

August 14, 2006, 10:48 AM
1. Mossy 590A1
2. Ruger Mini 30
3. Ruger M77 MKII (All Weather in .300 Win Mag)
4. H&K USP (.45 ACP)

1. Mossy 590A1
2. H&K G36C (no I dont have one unfortunatly, but I shot one when I was in Germany and it was awesome!)
3. H&K USP Compact (.45 ACP)
4. Bushmaster M4A3

August 14, 2006, 01:59 PM
So I could live with 4 that I already own:

Marlin 60 .22 (SCARY accurate for a "cheap" gun)
Mossberg 20" 12 guage "Special Purpose"
SKS-M--Takes AK mags, have enough mags to hold 300 rounds
Bolt action, scoped rifle (have several) in .308 or 30-06 (or 8mm or 7.62x52, etc.) class

Not much you can't handle with the above.
