I need some load information for a Tac .20. My rifle will be finished in a few weeks and I'd like to start gathering the goods.
What powder are you folks using, etc?
Thanks.

Wait--really? There's a .20 round being marketed as Tactical? Because a .22 was deemed over the top? I'm very curious!

The .20 tac has been around for years, well before the .204. It's a varmint cartridge, not a tac cartridge.. sort of like Government intelligence- they both sound viable when judged only by their name.
It's a .223 necked down to a .20 caliber with a slight change in shoulder. With the heavier bullets it's capable of 700+ yard hits effectively. Explosive!! Uses less powder than the .204, and has superior wind bucking ability. It's very attractive to me for all of the above mentioned reasons and I have one in the making. The best part is...... it doesn't have "Ruger" in the name.
However, I'm sure it would do a fine job as a Tactical cartridge as well. There was a post on one of the other forums from a coroner that said the worst trauma he'd ever seen was a .204 to the head. According to him, he's seen many, many head shots..
