After doing a little looking around, I'd like to get an M65 field jacket (and liner) along with some BDU pants for hunting. I've also seen that the foreign made copies, as well as some US made clothes are much lower quality than the real stuff.

Searching on Google, I've found this (http://www.armysurplusworld.com/product.asp?ProductID=932) place, as well as this (http://www.armynavysales.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=01&Product_Code=MJ103W&Category_Code=M65) one. Both companies claim that their jackets are made to military specs, but one is $30 and the other is $70. Neither includes a liner, but both places sell liners for $20.

I stopped by Sunny's today and they had a Chinese made M65 with liner for $85.

Is there any way to tell which of the supposeed Mil-spec jackets is real? What should I expect to pay for one?

Try ebay or one of the Army Navy Stores around a miltary base. What size do you need? I've got one I never wear since the gortex parka came out.

I've looked around a good amount since i posted this thread. http://www.armynavysales.com/ seems to be OK. They have mil-surp jackets/pants and jackets that they say are "Made in the U.S.A. by Government contractor to exact Military specifications."

I'm planning on ordering an M65 jacket w/ liner, M65 pants w/ liner, and polypropylene thermal underwear. I figure this stuff, along with a ski mask, and hooded sweatshirt should be good for my area (still hunting, usually no colder than high 20s before sunrise). I was hoping I could find the jacket/pants in digital camo, but all the digital camo I could find was imported. Woodland will be fine.

I bought an really nice new vintage Norwegian counterpart for $10 on the evilBay. No liner, but a liner can be a wool sweater, zippered fleece jacket or any other suitable insulating garment.

Not trying to steer you away from a USA-made genuine M-65; they are an excellent all round item. But I personally have never been impressed with copies - wherever they were made.

PM me your sizes and I'll see what I have.

Most of the stuff I think offhand are medium regular pants and shirts. I have a full box of that stuff so if anyone needs them then let me know.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up buying the M65 jacket and pants with liners as well as the polypropylene thermal underwear from armynavysales.com. All of the pieces are new military issue except for the jacket, which they say is made by a military contractor to military specs.
