Are you a holster collector?

No, I'm not talking about the box of discarded holsters we all have in our closet because they just weren't up to snuff.

I mean collecting different holsters the same way we collect guns, because they are a unique design, or finish quality.

I see posts all the time with headlines like "greatest holster ever" from the likes of Alessi, Sparks, Tucker, Brommeland, Sidearmor, Sherrick, etc. and most of the threads have the same familiar names in them.

Some have reasons, such as Kydex for the match, OWB for cooler weather, IWB or pocket for the hot summer days.

So are you a collector? What are some of your favorites and why? Do you wear just one of them or do you rotate among them?

Nope... I have four 1911 holsters including one nice one and one left handed one (hey... you never know ;) ) , a decent one for my Kahr, one for the P32, a nice one for a Blackhawk, two general sized Uncle Mikes for various medium to large sized guns and maybe a couple other Fobus holsters.

I do need a nicer one for the Kahr as this one works, but isn't the last word in quality or comfort. I certainly wouldn't call myself a collector. :p

I do have the box of leftovers though. I also have different application holsters for my CCW guns, such as combinations of belt holsters, shoulder holsters and/or IWB holsters for my G17, G27, S&W 5906 and SP101.

I have lots of different holsters for my Beretta 92 pistols. I have a Strong horizontal shoulder holster that I don't use anymore, since it had a way of dumping my weapon onto the deck at inopportune times. I replaced it with a Bianchi vertical shoulder holster. I also have a Piecekeeper three-slot belt slide, an IWB, and the Bianchi M12 military.

I too have a box of holsters for weapons I no longer own.

If buying all from one manufacture because of contined quality, then yes. All mine are from Mitch Rosen. if you don't mean buying all from one manufacture because of contined quality, then...no.:p
