hi guys,,, i been thinking of getting one of the new 1100 tactical shot guns,,with the 22" barrel,,, but i already have an 870 and a slug barrel,, and an 1100 and a slug barrel for it too,,, so i think i'm going to get a mag. extention for them and save the money of getting another shot gun,,, so the question is,,,, i would like to change out the wood,,, the 870 is a trap grade and it does have nice looking wood,,, the 1100 is a magnim and the wood is kinda nice,,, if i change the furniture to synthetic who makes the best bang for the buck,,,i don't think i want a pistol grip stock,,, i been shot gunning for a long time and i don't like the way they feel,, or handle on a shot gun,,,so what do you guys think??? :D although i really like the looks of that new 1100 tac.

Rather than changing one that you already obviously enjoy, unless you simply cannot afford it, I suggest simply buying what you want. Like Jello, there is always room for more.:D
Oh, welcome to THR!
BTW, ever heard of Greentop Mo? Near Kirksville. My grandfather grew up there.

Why not see if you can find a used Mossberg 500 or LEO trade-in. I bought a new Mossberg 500 Persuader Cruiser a couple of years ago for less than $300. I think Pachmayer sells the stock and forearms for about anything made, how about Brownells.

imho; reffering a fine firearm such as an 870 or 1100 as a shotty is insulting the to firearm.

Check out the synthetics for sale on ebay - usualy one can find a set for $50 or less . Same place for mag extensions and short barrels if your patient you can have all you need for about $100 - $125 per gun . (stocks, short barrel, extension)
Around here you can find police trade in 870's for around $150 so that's another thing to look for. They don't typically have the extended magazines and have wood furniture, but you won't be mesing up any pretty wood.
