just got a Rossi carbine in .44 mag. Fairly often it has trouble chambering the first round. Usually after that it chambers fine with authoritative levering.
Also it doesn't accept a second .44 spl round. The first will go in magazine, but not a second.
Any advice gratefully appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

When you use "authorative" levering, do the rounds appear to have been scuffed or scraped in any way? Is it hard to remove unfired round from the chamber? Have you given the chamber a good cleaning recently? Any rough spots in the feed pathway? Was it always like this or is this a recent development? Did you get it new or used?

im not sure about your problem, the only advice that i can give you about 44 carbines is to be extremely careful with the 185 grain loads. They are BRUTAL i have seen 3 separate stocks that have been cracked by these things mine included. As well as a buddy of mines blackhawk that the frame cracked. Stick to the 240's.
