I am visiting Indiana soon. I now live in VA. I do possess a VA CHP, which I understand is legal in IN. My question is this:am I prohibited by law from carrying my gun into an establishment that serves alcohol? I didn't see anything on the packing.org site about that, but thought I'd ask y'all just in case.

dosey, Indiana recognizes the licenses to carry of all states and foreign countries according to the terms of your license. Thus, if I remember correctly, if you have a Ol' Virginny license you still have to wear a white suit, string tie and carry a hand fan around and say "I say, I say" as these are the terms of a Virginny license.

I don't know what the terms of your license may be. There is no statute against carrying in bars, taverns, watering holes, or restaurants that serve booze. Of course, a bar could always ask you to leave for totin' yer hawlaig, but have not heard of that happening around these parts. Could happen though.

Have a nice trip.:)

It is legal to carry into a bar provided the owner permits it, which surprises me given Indiana's Blue Laws. (No sales on Sunday) It is not legal to give someone who is intoxicated a gun. You probably shouldn't do it if you are planning on drinking.

Indiana Handgun codes are here (http://www.ai.org/legislative/ic/code/title35/ar47/index.html)

There is also a local law somehere in Indiana (South Bend, I think) that states you can't give cigarettes to a monkey. Watch out for that one.

Cats, well, not exactly. Just don't forget to order food with your booze on Sunday and you're all set.:D

BTW, it is a Class B misdemeanor to put dye on a bunny or chick. :uhoh:

Well, I've never tried buying booze. I have had allergic reations to alcohol beverages both times I came into contact with them. Swelled up like a balloon. :(

I know someone who got fined for driving a tractor without shoes. :p

What size shoes would a tractor wear, anyway ...?

My, my! :D

Brake shoes, perhaps?
