What are the difference between the 3 inch 65-3 vs 65-5? I understand that the 65-5 is a newer version, but are there any changes or upgrades that would make me rather have a 65-5 vs a 65-3?

thanks in advance
cheers,
Derek

According to the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, the bible of S&Ws, the 64-4 and 65-5 involved new yoke retention systems, both in 1988. Later on other minor changes were again made in the 65-5.

However, I'll go on record as a big fan of the "65-3". Had mine since '87 and it has Never failed me. To my mind that "K" frame is the finest combat revolver ever made. I love the little rascal!
