Hi all, this my be a stupid question but I am looking to buy a handgun online. The one I am wanting is $50 cheaper than the other ones, but it is in CA and says "this handgun is approved for sell in CA". The other guns are in different states and don't say that. Being in Texas I don't understand I thought the company sent in a model if it passed that model was legal if not than it wasn't. If the dealer is in CA selling the gun why would you post that unless that particular gun had some extra feature for CA??? Or mabe I should just pay the $50 more and not worry about it! FWIW it is a 7rd. 1911 Please explain Thanks

The dealer is justing making it clear to the CA buyers that it is on the approved list and may be bought by CA residents.

Question, will the difference in price save you any money given the fact that the dealer would have to ship to an FFL that you would need to pay?

Yes, either way I'm paying the FFL.

My local FFL guy charges $50. per, and unless I'm getting a really good deal it's not worth the txfer fee. But, I'm *in* California, which probably puts me at a disadvantage...

The guy I have been using for years charges $15 to transfer which is why I only buy online now. All the examples I refered to in the earlier post were online also, I checked local price and it was a min. $150 more plus sales tax.

The only problem I have had in buying from California is that it takes a long time for delivery. If the $50.00 is worth waiting a few more days for your pistol, then there is no problem. As tight as I am, a few more days doesn't matter that much. I do avoid buying from Calif. if I can get the same price elsewhere.
