Northern California Elk Hunting.

Anyone with experience hunting elk in NorCal? How hard is it to get a tag and where have you hunted successfully? I see them occasionally from 97, but is that land open for public hunting?

My experance trying to get elk tags in CA is not very good. I tried unsucessfully to get a Tule Elk tag for 20 years.

I would suggest a AZ or CO elk tag if you really want to hunt elk, they are MUCH easyer to get.
