I need some advice for bench setup, for now I'm going to run a Lyman spartan press and a rockchunker pics of you benches and any advice would be helpful

It's an old pic but maybe it will help. Now its not nearly as clean and organized as it used to be. I've added three pistol calibers and one rifle plus a Giraud trimmer and RCBS chargemaster 1500. Oh, and almost forgot the RCBS single stage. It's getting a bit crowded but it goes to show you can do a lot with a minimum amount of space.

IMO the two biggest considerations when choosing a workspace are a rock solid work surface and plenty of lighting. The last thing you want is your bench rocking and rolling as you crank the handle. It's annoying and will cause variations in your product. Consistancy is your friend when it comes to reloading. I can't over emphasize proper lighting either. I started out with a single tube 40w fluorescent and gradually progressed to: 2x40w T8 fluorescents, 4x50w halogen in the ceiling, a 500w halogen stand light, and a 40w incandescent task light looking right down into my press. Hopefully your eyesight is better than mine. (Semi-)Old Age is Hell.

Have you considered mounting your other two presses on heavy pieces of wood 1/2 to 3/4" thick and approx 12" square and mounting them on your bench with two C-clamps when they are needed. I have two Dillon 550's permanently mounted and have my Redding Boss mounted that way for when I need a single stage press...works for me.

I know i`am the wrong one to ask abought loading benches, I stuffed the bench with so much stuff it`s hard to work on now,Dillon 650,Dillon SD,HollyWood,RCBS2,and a Bonanza co-ax and all the fixens:confused:

BENCH?? Heck I use a desk, goverment surplus thank you:D If you want to use multipme presses in one space check the pictures of my quick release out.

This is the "Kencraft" or "Kennedy" reloading bench. It was like $300 from Midway, but since it's inside I didn't feel like hacking something together from plywood and 2x4s.

I used Home Depot cabinets. The bench top is made from several pieces of MDF screwed and glued together to get it about 2.5" thick. It is bolted to the wall of the house. Covered the top in matching formica. I set the height where the Dillon 550B handle is comfortable when down. Good luck. :)

Here's mine. Found an old wooden door in a scrap wood bin so I snatched it up. Sucker weighs a ton. Used other scrap 4x4's and such to make a combo reloading, shop use bench. Bit messy when I took the pic but it's been cleaned up since.
