Henry Bowman, that handsome devil (ok, attorney, which is scarier) rides again.

I am considering changing the text to:

Door crashers won't wait for us to get ready
So prudent men keep enough lead on hand
Keep their powder dry and aim steady

Don't want the reader to misconstrue the guy in the photo as a door crasher. What do you think?

How about shortening to just a couplet:

Door crashers won't wait for us to get ready,
So keep your powder dry and aim steady.

1.
Invaders do not announce
Be a prepared Homeowner ready to pounce

---
2.
Doors crashings in are in vouge
Are you prepared to send your invaders to the Morgue?

--
3.
No Time for Nine-Eleven
When the door crashes in
Will it be you or them
That gets sent to hell or heaven?

Don't want the reader to misconstrue the guy in the photo as a door crasher. What do you think? I don't think the guy in the photo would be mistaken for the bad guy.

I also like SuperNaut's suggestion.

Sorry, Oleg, but it's too wordy.

Home invaders aren't welcome here.

Shout for help or SHOTGUN?

Shout for rescue or SHOTGUN to the rescue?

When the door crashes in will you be able to protect your family?

Shotguns have been protecting homesteads for 200 years. Are you ready?

Thieves came looking for cha-ching,
they found some ka-chunk instead.

Hmmm, I say bad guys find Henry "patently offensive"!:neener:

BTW, what's all this then with outdoor ready positioning? Get that buttstock in the shoulder, counselor.:D Is outdoor ready just for the camera?

How about: "You can't make a reservation for an emergency. Be prepared.":D

No buttstock. It's an AOW. Children, puppies and kittens around the feet, thus the outdoor ready position. ;)

Boy...
My bubble got bursted...

I thought Henry had a "really big Foyer" and with all the Trees, Plants and all in the Foyer, well...it was like being "outdoors".

I understand some tilecrawlers have only a small "snail mat " or "slug rug" in front of inside of door...Just thought Henry was different. :neener:

That gun did have a full stock...

I think sometimes more is more. In this case, the added verbage works

No buttstock. It's an AOW

Ah. In that case, how 'bout: "Oh, man. I hope I never have to actually fight somebody with this thing."

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I, too, think the original is a bit wordy. Maybe: "The only way to face a home invasion . . . . is with adequate preparation."

That gun did have a full stock...You would remember better than I. We need to see the picture of OEF_VET so we see them all at once! :D

Henry Bowman, even if it did have just a pistol grip, as long as it was over the minimum barrel and overall length, why would that make it an AOW as opposed to a regular old shotgun? I was under the impression that for a shotgun to be an AOW it could never have had a stock mounted on it.

Don't want the reader to misconstrue the guy in the photo as a door crasher. What do you think? Maybe reshoot or photoshop in the background the interior of a home. Does not have to be in focus, just enough to set that scene that Henry is clearly the resident.

<chuckle>

Well a ficus or one of them fake trees in the background, the wife in the background with an apron, flour on face and a rolling pin in hand...

Just passing on what a lady friend offered up...

She thinks Henry needs a dishtowel tossed over a shoulder, to look as if he came running out the kitchen from assisting the wife with supper...

If it had a vertical front grip and no stock, then it would be an AOW.

Re-take the shot with Harry in front of:
-a bookshelf
-a window
-a simple light switch

I was under the impression that for a shotgun to be an AOW it could never have had a stock mounted on it.I misremembered because we also had such a shotgun there and did some pics with it, too. Oleg has SOT friends who drop by with toys.

And... No one would ever mistake me for a bad guy. ;)
