These pictures people are posting are killing me. I can't afford a deer lease, and all the draw hunts on state park land take place during the week. I work Mon-Friday, and I can't take any time off of work until March of next year (my one year anniversary). :(
Maybe I'll win the redneck retirement fund, and that will solve my problems. :o

Take heart. The big bucks just do this now when they are in velvet. They will disperse by the season.
I was going to say "take hart", but with the usual spelling here, no one would have gotten it.

nice pic, though it's another frustrating reminder that i was passed over in the draw again this year.
i saw a great buck and a couple cow elk while up in the Sierra Ancha last week. they bounded off before i could get the camera.

Ken,
3 days ago, 5:30 am, leaving for work. Driving out of my heavily populated subdivision in North Shelby Co., 5 houses down I see two 8 pointers and a 10 pointer grazing on flowers/shrubs in a neighbors front yard. The 3 bucks were 6 inches apart from each other. Oblivious to me and my car. I stopped and watched for a good three minutes. They eventually looked up and casually strolled into the back yard to graze where I then only had limited view.
Entire drive into work I kept thinking "Man, I never see that when I'm in my tree stand!!!"

There is a gated communiny near me named http://www.stillwatersresort.com/ that does not allow hunting. They do not have to mow the golf course in the off season. I have come home from an after dark dinner and seen 20 deer grazing on the grass near the road.

Now that made me laugh.
But if you think spelling is bad on THR, try this place: http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/
Yeesh. When it comes to spelling, I think that forum is the hindmost.

A hart is an old spelling for male deer.
