Silver Bear .308

Anyone here know or ever use the Silver Bear .308? My friend had ordered a large ammount of .223 silver bear which has worked very well. He got a cataloge from Silver Bear and he said they also sell .308 for around 60-70 per 500 rounds. Silver bear is different because it has zinc instead of brass for the round case.

Zinc?
To my knowledge, they use a nickel-plated steel case.
I've never had any experience with their rifle ammunition, but I've been mighty disappointed with their 9x18 ammunition (serious OAL issues that production QC should have detected).

I think Silver Bear is fine in 9x19 (as long as your gun will feed 145gr HP's) and im betting .308 will be fine also unless you have some pansy rifle.I just ordered in 500 rounds of .223 for my sweet new 16" Saiga which is definitely NOT a pansy rifle!

I've shot both the 9mm & the .223 with excellent results. It's extremely accurate in my Savage 12fv, considering the price of the ammo. I normally get 1" groups at 100 yards with it, and it feeds and extracts perfectly.
The 9mm is pretty good too. It's a tad dirty, but not as bad as wolf and I've NEVER had a FTF with it, out of 6 guns I've shot it through, all of which shot well with it.
I'd buy the .308 in a second.

Where can I order it online? I didn't know Silver Bear made .308.
I'm sure my FAL will love it. It's a tough rifle.

I cannot find that stuff anywhere, I knew they made .308, but no one has it.

Zinc?
To my knowledge, they use a nickel-plated steel case. I've got about a case of 7.62x39 Silver Bear and it's all Zinc plated steel, at least that's what it says on the boxes. I could have sworn that the case I had before this was nickel plated though.

I think some dealers are misrepresenting it as nickel-plated, because thats the only place I see it. All the boxes say Zinc.

Zinc, nickle, whatever-it still beats laquer in your chamber. I'd be curious how accurate it is.

They make both kinds. I have a case marked "Zink" (spelling error and all) right now.
