i plan on joining a center fire pistol league...i was just wondering what might be a lower lighter load to use....currently i reload and shot 6.5grs Titegroup with a 200gr lead bullet.....45LC...they shoot targets a distance of 50 feet
could i drop down to about 4.0grs?....how would i know how low to go?

Qicknot,
No wanting to sound harsh, but invest in a good basic reloading manual such as Lyman #48, Hodgdon's etc. and you will have the information you need from people who do this for a living. They have spent a lot of time and money doing the hard work for you. Spend $20 + and you will have some peace of mind. I never take anyone's word on a load without checking it in a book. If you really need to call the powder manufacturer and they are HAPPY to be of service.
Enjoy the .45

Your load of 6.5 grs is realatively sedate in the .45 LC. Hodgdon's on line data lightest load lists 5.5grs of Tightgroup at 731 fps with a 200gr Lead RNFP in the Cowboy Data. http://www.hodgdon.com/data/cowboy/spc45lc.php
Personally I wouldn't go any lower than this unless I could find data from a commercial source that has such a load. Accuracy at this load level may or may not be adequate for best scores. You just have to try them and increase the load if the accuracy isn't there.
