Attention Moderators:

I am already aware from the get go this is OT for THR, however, I'm growing evermore desperate for an answer. So if you could leave this open for just a 24 hour period, this would be so much appreciated. :)

My question is: "What reality show was it in the early 1990s (similar to Cops) that ran for a few seasons with real life events unfolding on screen, but had a narrator rather than on the scene video and audio footage?" The show would most times be aired just before or after Cops, so the two reality shows generaly ran in tandem.

This is not a trivia question. I don't know the answer, but I'm guessing one of you might be able to help.

Possible Cluing Titles:

"On Scene"
"Emergency on Scene"

Thank you

Rescue:911

Rescue 911 wasn't really a reality show as all the scenes were reenactments and not real video. COPS is way more entertaining.

That one was better than cops because the narriator gave a followup report after each scene.

There was one about the LAPD solely. It wasn't bad. "LAPD: Life on the Beat." Apparently it's still being made, too... http://www.mgmua.com/tv/lapd/

Also there was a series of videos called "Police Stop!" that aired on Sky One and had a short lived video career, mostly used as training tools. Here is a wiki about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Police_Stop%21

I read all the answers, and thanks :( , but unfortunately none are what I'm looking for. I would know the answer if I saw it right away. I just need that title to "click" ... you know what I mean?

American Detective - before some court ruled that TV camera crews could not do things like follow cops in on warrant raids.

"On Scene" and "Emergency On Scene" were basically the same show just different seasons. They did not just do LEO's but the entire gammet of emergency services (Fire, EMS, Rescue, etc). As I remember they did a lot with LAFD and LACoFD.

Oh, so Billy, there actually was a show called "Emergency On Scene"?

Come to think of it, a lot of the footage in this show was during the late 80's. That's right because I remember that show and "Radio 1990" (I think was local) ran back to back. "Radio 1990" ran up till 1990, then it was dead. So I was slightly off on the chronological time line.
