Ithaca SuperSingle M66, collector or truck gun?

I have a line on an old 20 Gauge plain barrel SuperSingle. It's not in excellent condition aesthetically, but it's not bad though the barrel is going somewhat brown, and it's 100% perfect, functionally.

The seller wants very little for it. It'd make a good "if I see any quail" gun for hiking.

Is this something to toss on the floor of the car, or to take special care of as a collector's item? Some of them go for 5 times what I'd be paying, but they are generally in Excellent condition.

Thoughts?

truck gun.
Those shotguns aren't at all uncommon.

That's what I wanted to hear. Thanks!

Truck gun, and probably a very good one. These are nice pointers, reliable and light weight.

Except for like NIB, not much collector interest, fortunately, for those of us who shoot rather than collect.

Locks up SOLID, points really well.

I played with it at the trap range, and I had to adjust to such a light gun (especially compared to my 9 lb. 34" trap gun). Once I learned to force my body to swing it, despite its light weight, I was busting clays consistently with it.

Hey, any tips on how to carry a shotgun that I have with me "just in case?"

We go hiking and sometimes scare up quail. But the point of the trip isn't to hunt, so I just want the gun on my back or somehow unobtrusive and safe.
