If this post is in the wrong category, please feel free to move or delete. My question is, is the Barrett M95 .50 Cal, classed as an Class II weapon? Does it require any special "Tax Stamp" to own? I know they have to be special ordered through an FFL dealer, but are there other requirements? Appreciate Info.

No, they are a Title I gun just like a 10-22 or Remington 870. Assuming Missouri allows it, you could certainly buy one from a private individual, no FFL required. Probably aren't a whole lot of them for sale like that, though.

Right, not only are they Title I, but only need to be special ordered through an FFL dealer if your FFL dealer doesn't have any in stock. You can buy them right off the store shelf otherwise.

not sure if your thread title is a little misleading. is there a "non-civilian version"? I'm only aware of the M95 and the one I have, which is technically an M95M (only difference being that it'is a factory refurb of an M95 that was previously owned by a random military, as I understand it). I'm saying, as far as I know, the gun sold to militaries is identical to one you would buy. someone please correct me if i misspoke.

Sorry for the confusion. Your correct taliv, there is only one version.

Be sure to buy 2. One is for home defense and the other to carry in your vehicle for vehicle defense. You can't have enough Barretts.
