Blacksuit,
If someone offered me a good condition fairly low round-count Colt AR-15 at that price, it wouldn't last too long! Provided the above conditions are fulfilled (if you are not an AR-15 expert, you might want to have someone who knows what they are doing check it out), a Colt is worth quite a bit more than that. Now, if it was an assembled upper and lower, then you might want to find out who made what. If it is a factory assembled rifle, though, it won't last long at that price.
I've got a Bushmaster (actually haven't got it yet [gunbroker.com], but I bought it a month ago). It seems the general consensus that while Colt may not have the best customer service, and does not appreciate it's customer base as much as other manufacturers, they do build a quality rifle. YMMV

That all depends on the condition. If its obviously in bad shape, I would pass on it.
But then again, if its in good shape, you should still pass and give me this guys phone number. :D
Seriously though. if its in good shape, thats almost robbery.

If it's in good condition, that's an awesome price.

If it's in good shape...even just okay shape...that might be a good price. Also, which varient of AR15 is it? That might bake a difference too ;)

Here there is everything you need to build an AR for right at 700.00 using a Stag stripped lower receiver, DPMS lower parts kit, complete Stag upper assembly and six position collapsable butstock (complete with buffer and spring). That would be a good choice if the AR you're looking at is a bust. I doubt you can't even buy a decent new AR for in the 700.00 range.

something different
Yes, it's something different. Buy it immediately for $500.
It's not "different" in that it's something besides an AR (it is a variation of AR), but it's most certainly worth way more than $500.
Get me a couple while you are at it please!

I was in the army for 6 years and shot plenty of m16's..love it then and love them now. ANyone know any of the MODs over at AR15.com? I can't join with my yahoo account and have no other.

Get it. You might be able to find a Colt for $700, but $500 is unheard of.
