I'd be more than happy too, but since this is the autoloaders section, and mines a Nickle plated Colt Trooper, bought by my father shortly after I was born, and now given to me, I guess you'll just have to imagine it. :)
Unfortunately, I dont have any autos that would really fit your criteria.

Although I have a very deeply blued slide, As in 1950 colt blue My camera is not to good but in the pic of the right side that’s my head mirrored in it and as such is not the toughest choice out there. I have at least 15k closer to 20k through it since I had it made for me when I bought it new in 1991.

Not much to look at is it.
This is a Spanish made Alkartasuna copy of the Colt 1903 that was made for French Forces during WW1.
Forget the holster, it is a Makarov holster I use to store the pistol.
My Dad won this pistol away from a Frenchman in a Poker game in England during WW2.
The Frenchman came over during the Dunkirk fiasco and was being trained as a Resistance fighter. The pistol had come over with him.
My Dad was there as a Radio Operator and top turret gunner on a B17 bomber.
Once he got this pistol he carried it on all flights instead of the issue 1911A1.
He felt this .32 was smaller and lighter and easier to carry than the .45 auto and he figured if he ever needed to get out of a B17 in flight he wasn't going to really need a pistol once he got on the ground anyway, but the crews were regulated to carry handguns on their persons during flights.
He told me there were also survival kits in the aircraft that included rafts and M1 carbines but he never heard of anybody bailing out and actually remembering to release one of the kits,,,,,
Dad came home safe and in one piece and brought the gun home with him.
When he passed away it became a possession of mine.
It ain't much but it isn't for sale either,,,,

Don't store that beautiful gun in leather! It will slowly ruin the finish. Better to use a ballistic cloth type "gun rug" that will breath and will not hold moisture like the leather can. I've seen a lot of historic firearms greatly devalued by storing them in holsters...

For all those who were concerned about my dads Alkar .32 rusting away to oblivion it the leather holster, thank you for the concern and fear not.
Chinese Makarov holsters have a wonderful and pretty blue corduroy lining with a felt backing underneath that prevents the leather from coming in direct contact with any metal surfaces plus the pistol is filmed with R.I.G. and stored in a zip-lock storage bag inside the holster.
The gun is kept in a Ft Knox safe and has a tendency of getting knocked off its shelf and the holster protects it from getting dinged up and is a lot less bulky that a storage box.
Thanks again for the concern:)

I have actually only fired 5 rounds from this old warhorse. That was on 13 July, 1967 in South Vietnam, it was full of muddy water and it saved my life!!!! :)
Have not seen the need to fire it again, however if the occasion arose, it would function just as well today..
It is the standard, unmodified Colt M1911 A1 built in June 1945.

I don't have any material object that I think so highly of that I would prevent others from even touching it, but I do have some guns that have special meaning. Since this is the semi-auto forum THIS (http://www.fototime.com/D191CB9F30EDD17/standard.jpg) Series '70 Government Model has a lot of history.
I bought it brand new in February of 1973. Paid $135 retail. This gun has fired countless thousands of rounds, mostly mil-surp and reloads, without ever failing to feed, fire or eject.
In 1975 I added the S&W rear sight (that's what we did back then) and the ivory stocks ($32.50 and I screamed at the price).
I carried this pistol for many years working jobs that required me to be armed. It was used twice in encounters where shots were fired.
In June of 1987 all of my guns were stolen in a burglary including this one. To date 4 have been recovered (one as recently as 3 years ago so I still have hope for the rest). This one was recovered 2 months after the theft during a routine traffic stop. The driver, a convicted felon, had it in his car and I got it back while he went to jail for parole violation.
I take it out once in a while when feeling nostalgic.

I have a hard time picking my favorite -- It's a toss-up between my Browning HP and my FN HP. I think between the two I'd pick the FN... It's got a cleaner "look," and the trigger is better than that of my 1911, which is saying something. The only thing I've done to it is remove the mag disconnect.
Here she is:
http://www.hunt101.com/img/336165.jpg
And the pair:
http://www.hunt101.com/img/347157.jpg
Most cherished, and because of that, I ask everyone to shoot it:
Agreed! What's to hide? Why not share the joy? :) After shooting the FN, people generally ask me one of two questions: 1)"Where did you get this?" And 2)"How much do you want for it?"
I'm not selling, either. ;)

This is my CZ 452 ZKM that I got in 2001 and used during my adventures in homesteading far more than any other firearm--usually on a daily basis. The only thing I used the handguns and shotgun for on a regular basis was shooting holes in burn barrels or knocking out frozen widowmakers. I actually got a second ZKM and intended to sell this one off, but couldn't part with it so I traded off the new one instead :D And that's from a man who will buy or sell almost ANY firearm. With that rifle and a brick of 500 cci I'll never feel naked.

The handguns that I have at any given time are keepers. I neither call them baby or cherish them. I use them for recreation target shooting and for personal protection.
Each has a unique quality that envokes in me a sense of appreciation for the smith's art and the emotional satisfaction of knowning I am well-armed.
