Yes they are decent guns.

But have no resale value and are not a good investment.

But at less than half the price of most kimber's Colts or even S&W1911's, they make good shooters.

The Charles Daly's are assembled in the US from parts manufactured by Armscor in the Philippines. The main disadvantage of the guns is that the slide and frame are cast not forged unlike more costly guns from Springfield Armory or Kimber. The main advantage is price.

My RIA pistol is an Armscor product. I'm very happy with it and I'll shoot it until it wears out. It isn't a premium product by any stretch of the imagination, but then again I didn't have to pay a premium price for it. It has been reliable and a good shooter which is about all I can ask of a gun.

I have a CD Fld EFS 1911 and I really like it. It shoots all the time and is accurate. Granted it's not a Baer or Wilson but you can't beat the price. I could buy a few more guns by getting a CD.

I've a Charles Daly EMS with about 8000 rounds thru it now. Good shooter, I had a few minor problems that were easily fixed with standard replacemnet parts. Use the search, I've posted details.

For about the same price you can get a Taurus 1911(if you can find one). Main advantage to me is that the Taurus uses forged frame and slide. Even cast should probably outlast the shooter. I mean, come on it's 45acp not a 454 Casull:eek: ! And actually my Ruger SRH 454 is a cast frame FWIW.
