I'm just looking for something solid but cheap. I plan on throwing a red dot of some sort and I wanted soemthing that will still allow me to use the iron sights too.

Chris Rhines August 27, 2006, 11:54 AM If you are going to use a non-magnifying red dot, you can use a fixed or folding rear sight through the scope. The Aimpoint factory mount is solid and not too expensive. - Chris glennv August 27, 2006, 12:04 PM If you are going to use a non-magnifying red dot, you can use a fixed or folding rear sight through the scope. I have a DPMS fixed rear sight. I was wondering if I would need a riser mount of some sort in order to use the iron sights throught the dot sight. I should have added that in my initial post. MikeH August 27, 2006, 12:09 PM I had this arrangement on mine. The cantilever mount itself is tall enough without a riser. http://taiwanmilitary.org/mikeh/albums/album10/DSC01781_copy.jpg DMK August 27, 2006, 12:53 PM Get a Bushnell Holosight. It's the civilian version of the Eotech. It attaches right to the rail, no mount is required. It will line right up with your DPMS sight.
