I'm taking yet another political ideology course, and there is a kid in class that openly admitted to being socialist during the first day. I just dont understand those people... but thats EXACTLY why I'm taking the class. As the old saying goes, "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." :D

...and put it in a cartoon on the First Amendment. 'Twould be turnabout fair play, would it not?

The First Amendment ain't worth human-processed sustenance without the guns to back it up.(As for the gangbangers eliminating each other, what's the problem!?! Just teach 'em how to shoot straight so they don't hit anyone else!)

Funny thing about the First Amendment and the Second Amendment: You could never talk enough to keep the First, but with the help of the Second, you could certainly shoot enough to keep it!

Wish me and my homies could get together and point loaded guns at each other. Unfortunatly, I believe we have to much common sense. I consider myself a "gun nut", my father being a 35 year veteran gunsmith, I served in the USAF, and have a collection including an 1898 Krag to a still unfired :( RRA Entry Tactical. I assure all of you, if I decide to go on a rampage, I'm going to use a wristrocket.

Its the Village Voice ... I don't see why anyone is surprised. They've been to the left of the MSM for half a century.

Aren't cartoons supposed to be funny, or at least whimsical?

If that was the extent of this guy's comedy and artistic talent, he actually ranks suprisingly low among flash artists on the internet.

That wasn't funny, or even offensive. It was, all things considered, pretty forgetable.

Maybe he'd do better with a Rex Morgan animated series.

And after checking out his site, my above statements go for all his work. There's no comedy element anywhere. What a hack.

A juvenile and lousy attempt at satire. It contains no serious thought and isn't worth fretting about. In the context of a serious, cogent critique of gun culture, I agree.

Meaningless drivel with no redeeming intellectual value what so ever.

I wasted my time even watching it. :fire:

(Don't those script programmers understand that commercial messages switch frames at around 2 Hz? People can read way faster than that.)

It is only worth fretting about as a reminder that the American educational system regularly cranks out a large majority of graduates who can't think any more deeply than that.

And yet we call ourselves Homo sapiens. :scrutiny:

Pathetic, indeed.

More ignorance and false stats. One can be honest and still defend a position.

Not worth the time to write the pinko's at the village voice, they'll just right you/me off as another "wacko". They are the liberal elite and must be correct, they know what's good for us all.

One of my greatest curses is that I can laugh at anything funny, even if it is against something I stand for.

If there was humor there, I missed it.

I didn't know that leftists were OPENLY racist either, and that was the only part that even tried to tickle me.

The sadest thing is that there are people who live here that "got" this little pathetic attempt at political "humor".:scrutiny:

It was serious (and factually incorrect) or it was poorly done irony. Either way, it completely fails.

And you guys that are claiming it to be some sort of clever joke need to remember that this is the Village Voice, not the New Republic or the limbaugh fan club newsletter. The village referred to in their title is Greenwich Village, on the lower west side of manhattan. I lived mere blocks away and went to school in that neighborhood for years, and I am pretty confident that few here have any idea how left-leaning that place truly is. The population is about 60 percent homosexual and 60 percent starving artist, with considerable overlap between the two populations.

Their political views range between militant marxist revolutionary and namby-pampy vegan tree-hugger. Much like zombies, they are all the same type of undead- they merely move at different paces. Some shuffle around moaning while others run towards you, screaming and gnashing their teeth. The very idea that this could be anything but a straight-faced anti-gun cartoon is laughable. No one in that area has ever seen a gun in real life, let alone anyone on the Village Voice editorial staff.*

*unless they were mugged with one of NYC's 4 million illegally owned guns

Exactly. The creator of this so-called cartoon is obviously caught up in a tantrum of socialist rage.

As for the Village Voice, all this so-called newspaper is good for is a poor stand-in for Charmin.

The close-mindedness, ignorance and bitterness of the socialist/leftist/liberal/Democrat moonies truly knows no bounds...

Funny thing about the cartoon is that most what they described was either factually incorrect or perfectly described members of the Anti-Gun community.

This is what I wrote to the editor. About "America the shootiful" If the cartoonist doesn't like America and freedom, he can leave for North Korea. The U.S. doesn't want people who don't like it living here. We'll take anyone who is competant, willing to work, and loves our country, otherwise we don't need you. If you don't like it LEAVE.

Don't Tread On Me
August 28, 2006, 04:43 PM
This is:

1] a testiment to the failure (or success depending on the point of view) of public education and govermedia propaganda.

2] a reminder of the kind of mentality and people we are up against. They actually believe in garabge like this. That is how far removed from reality they are. This type of anti-gun rhetoric is IDENTICAL in every way to the Muslim virgin-promising fanatacism which the cartoon hypocritically attacks.

Solution: Buy more guns and more ammo.
