Is it possible to remove the magazine tube from the receiver?

should be. if it's threaded, you'll need a strap wrench.

It is threaded and can be removed. I'm sure you have your reasons, but I don't know why you'd want to.
Are you looking to add an extended magazine tube?

Skunk,
The magazine tube is threaded, but why would you want to have it removed?

Packs away better it's almost full length with that thing on there. I don't have a shotty case so want to toss it into a smaller bag till I can find one....

hrrm.
that's something i hadn't thought of.
I wonder if it would be possible to make a mossy into a takedown.
perhaps by making a mag tube with interrupted threads or something.
I understand what you want to do but I don't think it can be done at home...

Well, I have a question along a similar line. I just purchased a M1S90 tonight and I can only put 2 rounds in the tube. Imported by HK, serial M0900XX any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

DragonRider, congratulations on your new shotgun.
If you don't mind me asking but which M1s90 model did you purchase?
If you purchased one of the "tactical" variants then your problem might be caused IF the magazine limiter has not been removed.

To begin with, its a used M1 Tactical, but I was able to compare it to a NIB M1Tactical with Pistol Grip. Only difference on this one is that it has a shoulder stock. The mag tube runs the length of the barrel and is about 3/4 of an inch shy of the full length. Barrel has fixed choke, rifle type sights. I am able to fit 2 shells completely and about 3/4 of a third in the tube, shells are 3". Prior shotgun experience is 98% on O/U Browning.
Bought this as a opener in auto's and pumps.
Thanks

DragonRider, I asked which variant as I was wondering if you had a magazine tube extension or not. Irregardless, I think the limiter plug might still be installed.
Take a gander. You can PM me if you'd like or need instructions on checking it out.
By the way, you purchased a great shotgun.

I got the tube limiter out, thanks for the help. Nice to be able to put 7 in the M1 :-)
