Bright Sights?

Does anyone have any thoughts (he's kidding, right?) regarding Bright Sight's paint on front sights? I want to improve sight picture on a 3" kimber and have heard adding orange to the sight can help. Comments pro or con?

You can do just as well with Testors model paint for less money. The key is to first paint the sight white. When the white dries, apply the color of your choice (I like orange). After the orange dries, apply clear fingernail polish as a sealer.

The white base coat will help the colored top coat be a lot brighter.

I've been using the bright sights kit for about 3 years now - and the paint stays on much better than the others I've tried. I went in half on the kit with a friend and it will keep both of us in dots for years.

I have used that too and it does seem very tough and long lasting.

The ideal result I had was on my BHP where I added green on the recessed spots that had been white, and orange on front sight. I ordered mine from Charlie Parrot when I got a SmartCarry ages ago.

I used Bright Sights and it was good but very expensive.

Then I tried cheap acrylic hobby paint ($.89) from a crafts store and over coated it with some of my wife's clear nail polish - much longer lasting, much larger bottles, and more color choices!!

I use the Testors ACRYLIC model paint, following the hint above to lay a base coat of white,and it holds up extremely well. I have cleaned my guns with both Hoppes and carb cleaner and it has not affected the model paint.

The flourescent orange color is very visable and what I always use.
