Anyone ever go for high buck here in Washington? I made a comical effort last year and hope to have a better go of it this year. Just like to know if anyone else gets out. It seems like the proper way to do it is take a few days and go with pack animals, but I'll be going in for a day and that's that :p

I did high buck while stationed at FT Lewis about 12 years ago. My buddy and I came to the same conclusion: Use pack animals next time. We hiked in. The problem is, you need to get in past all the other hikers. You really need to have a horse take you in past the point where the casual sight seers travel. Didn't see much game, but can't expect to with all the people around. Never did it again, but would have used horses next time. We went on a 4 day weekend, so it was hike in one day, hunt two days, hike out. I think a week would have been better.
