30/40 Krag

I have a 1898 30/40 krag in excellent condition. I have heard the bolt needs to be magnafluxed for cracks. As far as I know, this was my grandfathers and when I had a gunsmith look at it, he cleaned cosmoline out of the receiver area. Any guidelines for magnafluxing the bolt?

I would think that any major race shop or big auto parts store would have magnaflux capability. just stop by and ask them

You can buy the componets for a dye penetrant test and DIY
