Do 500,000 volt stun batons work? Which brand really works?
I see voltage ranges from 100,000 to 500,000. Does the amount of volts matter?
Here's a link to some stun batons:

this has come up more than once, and i'm going to give my usual advice. get a good ASP baton and take a class in how to use it. the baton+class will run you about the same as that stun baton, but is smaller when closed, and you won't have to wonder if your batteries are fresh or worry about mechanical parts failing. if you need to use it, you don't want to have those concerns.

Classes smasses. I say save your $100+ and just buy one of these for $8. :D
A dull stick is better than a stun baton too, as long as it's heavier.

Never tried a 500,000 volt device but the 250,000s are fairly destracting and a bit painful. They are in no way disabling. You can hold a pencil between thumb and forefinger and zap you're forearm without dropping the pencil. Sets up a fairly rapid twitch while the button is down though.
