There are plenty of addicts here for sure!

But - ...if you reply to messages just to increase your post count!

...if you post messages just so you get email notifications!these should not be prime motives for posting.;)

+1!

Ok...I'll play.

...you are under teh impression that no one could possibly own a 1911 and a Glock.

....or and .45 ACP and a 9mm.

......or a .223 and a .308 rifle.

Forum junkies know that these combinations cannot co-exist in our reality without thermonuclear havoc ensuing.

You have the lingering fear that, unless you carefully police the Semi-Auto forum, some n00b is going to by a crappy gun and it'll be ALL YOUR FAULT!

Fortunately, I have my "Anti-Drug": working at the UT Range. At least there I can physically smack n00bs if they get silly...

You come onto the forum, read 2 threads, and an hour has passed.

It's 1:30 in the morning, and you keep telling yourself "One more, one more..."

... if your because your employer blocks firearms related websites, you use Windows XP Remote Desktop (or some other remote control means that your company legitimately uses) to connect to your home computer and surf the forums from there !:neener:

You might be a forum addict if...

You can recite most of the "Yo momma so tactical..." thread.
You make fun of "mall ninjas" while at the mall...
...and your friends/family understand the joke.
You've seriously considered what the best caliber for bears/zombies/rampaging SUV's/teenage mutant ninja turtles/zombie bears/zombie TMNT's/etc.
You have "alert me to ANY new threads" enabled.
You called a friend, while at a gunstore, to log onto THR to get a price check on a used gun to see if it was a good deal, and he got a fair amount of responses before the clerk even walked over and said "Can I help you?"
You STILL wonder What hAppened?
You have a word file on your desktop of "Cool gun quotes" which is pretty much just other people's signature lines, cut and pasted.

....You wonder if Spaceman Spiffy and Skunkabilly have gone to the big three-gun match in the sky, or just got girlfriends.

You are totally unaware of any current or "breaking news", local or national, unless it's posted on the forum.

...You decide that you can do your homework on your lunch break at college so that you can spend your time when you get home from work reading THR and 1911forum.

...You rush home from a 12 hour day of school and work because you want to check 1911forum because it is blocked by your employer's net-nanny software. Afterwards you ask your fiancee how her day was.

...You have over 100 old PMs in your user CP.

...You have ever bought or sold a weapon or peice of equipment on THR.

mattw,

try my suggestion above :-)

If you setup Remote Desktop correctly, you can actually access it via browser without the remote desktop application.

...your 67th post of the day reads something like, "...gonna have to get back to you on that when I get home from work..." =:D

I know...some of us are lucky to be able to check THR in the workplace...

I am lucky enough to be able to read THR at work. I think it is the only thing that gets be through the day without snapping some times.

1911forum (which is blocked where I work) is where my heart lies though.

I guess I just like to gravitate toward groups of people that are like minded to myself....Now only if there were a South Mississippi Residents Who Drive Fords and Voted for Dubya 1911 Owners Forum...

If you setup Remote Desktop correctly, you can actually access it via browser without the remote desktop application.

I am actually going to do this tomorrow. Thanks for the idea, pal!

...If you go to your User CP and set the default to be "show all threads" instead of "show from the last 30 days" just so you can be sure you did not miss anything that happened before you joined THR.

You decide there isn't enough forum activity so you post a thread just to get the discussion going...something like:

.357 magnum vs. .45 ACP
is 9mm a good man stopper?
Should I use +p or not?
1911s are unreliable
Glocks are unreliable
1911 triggers are better than Glock triggers
Glock triggers are better than 1911 triggers
Is cocked & locked safe for carry?
is a 1911 full length guide rod better?

Or any of the other bazillion "flame war starter thread" subjects

1. Your hands clutches the mouse spasmodically and you can't concentrate on work until you get your "Green Header website fix" and the shaking and tremors go away...:D

2. You click on the "History" icon, select "THR", and it expands into a list that goes SOOOOO far off the bottom of the screen that you're afraid to scroll down to see where the bottom is... :uhoh:
