What are your thoughts on (recent production is more the focus of my question) triggers?

Crisp and clean as advertised or comes with a built in lawyer complements of the Remington loss prevention team?

I only have one experience, but my was heavy and crunchy, but (with very minimal skill) I was able to smooth and lighten it nicely (to my satisfaction, at least).

some people can fix it themselves, a gunsmith can fix it for $50, but your gonna have to work on it. really not bad triggers, just very heavy for me.

There is a NIB 700 BDL in .270 at my local shop that lists for $599.99 and it has one of the best triggers I've ever felt on an out-of-the-box rifle. It actually compares favorably to the trigger on the vintage Sako AV in the rack right next to it. And that's saying something. If I hadn't just bought a used 700 VS SF in 7mm-08 (with another very good trigger) I would buy the BDL.

Full disclosure -- several other triggers on used 700's in that same shop were medicore to poor, IMHO.

I just picked up my 700 ADL in .270 win and am debating adjusting the trigger to make it a little lighter. It is nice but a tad on the heavy side.

Debate over...adjust that trigger now! :)

Remington's have nice triggers, just heavy and lawyerized. But once adjusted, they are truly gems. They are certainly not as good (in most cases) as the high end triggers, but as good as you'll find in an out of the box gun.

I recently bought a 700 ADL that came with a ridiculously heavy trigger. There are many sites right here on your friendly internet (google it) offering clear and simple instructions on how to adjust the trigger; this is a job that can be done with no tool other than a screwdriver, in maybe 30 minutes if you take your time and fuss with it.

After my 30 minutes with the gun, the internet, and a screwdriver, my Remington has the best trigger in my house.

Oh, and some fingernail polish.

Remington 700s seem to have VERY variable triggers. I've encountered some with very heavy and some with very light. My ADL .270 is about 6#s, but surprisingly crisp. My VLS .223 is quite light for a 700 at 4#s, and is also quite crisp.
