I am think of purchasing this one for my Remington 700LTR. I would like to get feed and opinions as to the quality and usefullness of this product. Also any comparison to the Blackhawk version would be nice.

Martin-
I'm going to move this down to the Firearms Accessories area, where it more appropriately belongs.

I have not used this specific Eagle product, but as a rule they make very high quality gear. I'll only buy from them or a couple smaller, less well known West Coast manufacturers.

I use the Blackhawk version on my 870 12ga. Space for odds & ends, a few extra rounds, and a cheek pad to boot. The cheekpad is real nice when shooting slugs, very comfortable. It was a small pita to put on and adjust but once on is rock solid and does not move. I like it and recommend it, money well spent for me.

I have the Blackhawk one on my 700P. Good piece of gear....very comfortable, doesn't move around. I'm sure the Eagle one is just as good if not better.

Hey, great looking product. For $34, it looks like I'll be putting one on my old FR8.

The US made Eagle Industries stock pack is superior to the imported Blackhawk product that is similar in appearance IMO.
The straps on the Eagle are longer and give your more range of adjustment.
Also, the Eagle model gives you a surface that feels like padded suede leather to rest your cheek on.
The Blackhawk cheek rest feels like what it is, stiff plastic, though it is also padded.
I own both, and have them on both rifles and shotguns, though the Blackhawks are no longer being used.
They raise your comb height slightly and those of us without much padding on our faces really like the padded surface for your cheek.:)

www.dillonprecision.com usually has them in stock.

I have an Eagle Industries stock pack in black. I don't use it anymore though because after I got the McMillan A-5 (w/o cheekpiece) for my Savage, I never had a need for the higher cheekweld that the Eagle stock pack provided. I felt that it actually pushed my weld higher than I wanted it to. I definitely needed it with my factory stock and with the B&C Duramaxx stock.

Right now I just keep it in my rucksack.

Eagle and Blackhawk both make quality products. I try to go with Eagle as much as possible before I buy Blackhawk, though. Eagle is made in the USA. The only Blackhawk items I use right now are a Blackhawk rifle case (came free with the McMillan A-5) and the Blackhawk pro shooters mat (got if off eBay for real cheap).

BTW: If you decide to buy the Eagle Stock Pack, get it through StubbyGear.com (http://www.stubbygear.com). 'Stubby' is an active member on The Sniper's Hide Forum and is a very reputable person to deal with. He should have all colors in stock (black, woodland, olive drab, khaki, 3-color desert). He also carries other Eagle Industries merchandise.
