I couldn't say if it's worth it but I like the Metal hood . It seems very durable. I also like the controls on my Eotech 551. I have it currently mounted on my RRA US Prop. A4.

It depends on the use. For competition or plinking, you probably wouldn't need the hood. If this is the case, then also check out the Hakko holo sights. I've got one on one of my ARs, and I like it.

For sturdier construction, as one would want for a duty weapon, the EOTech would be preferable.

If you have a flat top, I'd buy some BUIS and one of the Hakkos or unshielded holosights. It costs about the same in the end, and then you wind up with some BUIS if your holosight gives it up.

If your holosight is going to be your only sighting tool, I'd definately get the EOTech with the hood.

Techbrute,

Which one of the Hakko's did you pick, and what has been your experience with it?

Thanks!

Does anyone but me find it somewhat ironic that a company in Japan, where you are almost totally forbidden to own a firearm, makes red dot sights?

My own personal preferance would be the EO sight.

;)

Firearms are Evil and Bad, but not Evil and Bad enough to not make money off of... Like Cigs in the U.S.A
