Yesterday I received my new desert sand root saw Glock knife and so far I think its really cool.It appears to be very well made.I love how securely it locks into its kydex ( ) sheath.Has anyone ever put one of these to hard use or know of a web link to a torture test? What kind of steel is it made of? Also,Ive always wanted an AK bayo that has the wire cutter.Ive seen a Bulgarian one in "like new" condition at Centerfire systems for $20.00.Are these tough and any good. What kind of steel are they?

I have the Glock knife in olive drab, with the saw edged back. It is a very solid feeling knife, and I like it a lot. You are right about the sheath being very secure, a bit too secure for a combat knife, but good for other uses.

I had one years ago. Some of the finish wore off and soon after it rusted in those spots. Keep an eye out for rust forming and you should be in good shape.

That's because combat blades are designed to be oiled regulary by combat troops whilst they are cleaning their weapons:)

I have a glock field knife too. I have abused the crap out of it and used it for throwing. It has hit handle first a few times but it is still tight and solid. It doesn't see use now that I have a Becker BK7 but they are still pretty decent knives in my experience.

I cant say much about the AK bayonet but I do know that once you put an edge on it it holds the edge. I brought one home from Iraq 3 years ago. It looks cheap but then it most likly is.Using the wire cutter I have cut concertina wire regularly with no deforming of the blade.

Although I've never handled one I've long admired the AK bayonet for the incorporated wire-cutter design.
You might also want to check out the M9 bayonet. It also has a built-in wire cutter as well and looks beefier.
