How come my pictures come up as thumbnails, instead of a link that I can use to add a full size picture to my post? I follow the instructions in the manage attachments section and this as far as I can get.http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=44626&d=1157796785

Thumbnails are automatic for attachments.

To show the full image, you need to link to the image address after you uploaded the attachment. Right click on the image (or the thumbnail) and copy the full image address found in "properties" (no need to include the "d=nnnnnnnnnnn" part). Then paste that address between the IMG tags like this:

That will yield the following:

BTW, your image is far too large for practical usage (609 KB). There are ways to reduce its size to a more manageable one. (Do it for the dialup impaired if for no other reason. ;) )
