Is anyone shooting the match this coming weekend?
I'll be there. I'm shooting on Saturday, and helping SO on Sunday. It looks to be a fun one.

I'll be there, I'm driving up from VA, shooting on Saturday. I'm in SSP EX, so if you're shooting against me, be gentle. ;)

I'm shooting SSP SS. I hope to be EX by Monday morning though.
I'll be running a G34. What'd ya got?
I do know that you will have some stiff competition from at least one of the local guys that I shoot with. He's shot a lot of matches this year, and has really improved.

SIRVEY, I'm shooting a Glock 34 as well. I won SSP EX last year, but there were only like 7 guys in that division. If I had been shooting ESP EX, I would've come in LAST. I'll be curious to see how it comes together this year.
(I already got warned about the comptition from another friend up there.)

Approx 10 hours, depending on how crazy one gets with the go pedal.

Well shoot'um fast and accurate Jay. Mapquest says its about 20+ hours to Little Rock, so you'll be putting a lot hours behind the wheel.
See you on Oct 4 at Shooters.

Thanks, Bruce. :)
Dwayne and I made Little Rock in about 17 hours last year. The segment between Nashville and Memphis is the brain suck though, it just. never. ends. I need to come up with something to entertain us for that stretch so that we both don't go crazy.

There sure seems to be a lot of G34 shootin' SSP Experts here... How about one more!
I'll be shooting Sunday (if the Lake Express ferry I'm taking Saturday doesn't sink, my Brother forgets to me up in Muskegon, or we crash on the way to our hotel in AA).
What's amazing to me (having been involved in working every major IDPA match in WI) is how you guys garner 200 shooters! Esp. w/ the Limited Nationals going on the same week!

Don't be nervous, it is the same as a local IDPA match, just more stages. Shoot consistent, don't try to burn down stages, and for goodness' sakes, HAVE FUN! Come bug me, I'll be the lamer trying to live up to the "Expert" classification. ;)

(I got 4th in SSP EX. There was some serious competition this year. I can't believe the guy who took SSP, his overall time was 163.52! Kripes, that is sailing.)
Congrats to everybody, it was a really fun match! I'll be back next year if I can.

My first time shooting IDPA in MI, and all I can say is WATCH OUT!
That was by far the most challenging IDPA match I've ever witnessed - and to think that the MD claims that next year will be even better? I'll just have to see that for myself. The format of employing the individual clubs worked very well, every single stage was different.
The stages were off the wall; almost every one had a mover of some sort (and the one that didn't had a couple of very long shots) and then, THEN there was stage 10. The automation nightmare, now that was nuts.
The level of talent there was simply remarkable too - everyone on my squad was damn fast and it was a challenge keeping up with them. Looking forward to making the trip next year.

The match was very challenging. I shot like total crap!:cuss: Not a good representation of my abilities.:fire:
There were a ton of movers. Stage #1 was just stupid. Those swingers were out of control!:what:
I really enjoyed Stage #10. I was talking to the MD, and next year it will shoot back.
Things I learned at the match:
Most importantly: Do not engage a popper that sets off a swinger and a drop-turner...with the eleventh friggin' round.:banghead:
Also, when the door decides to randomly get hung up on god knows what as you enter the third room in the Dark House (Stage #5), do not open it with your shoulder while barging into the room. This is not using cover correctly. The SO will yell, you will be scared:eek:, and yet again...you will drop 15 points on the drop-turner that you fail to triple tap!:cuss:
I'm excited for next year.
P.S. It was nice to meet you Jayman. I'm sorry that I didn't get a chance to talk too much. Maybe next year. Congratulations on your placing.

You didn't do badly, duder. I would have to agree, there were no easy or gimmie stages. I didn't care for stage 10, I felt like it wasn't designed in the spirit of IDPA. Still interesting though.
I'll definitely catch you guys next year. :)

I was signed up for the State match, and with everying going on this year I had to withdrawl from the match a week before.
The competition is absolutley incredible in Michigan, every practice I attend has some incredible talent there. But we are a good group of people, and I always enjoy myself at any club.
