I saw an ad from Brownells for a ".17 HS" barrel for a Ruger 10/22. I assume this is a .22 LR rimfire necked to .17 caliber, ala the .17 Hornady magnum rimfire?

Seems like an interesting Contender barrel, too:) I ran a search here and got no hits. Anyone have more info?:)

The .17 High Standard (a.k.a. .17 Aguila) is basically a .22 LR necked down to .17 caliber. This should not be confused with the .17 HRM now being sold by Hornady. You can visit http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115429&highlight=aguila for a little more information. Hope this helps!
